Project idea

Today, people want activities faster, closer and more spontaneously than ever before. Great potential for sport development
and recreation have open public superficial. When we begin to perceive them as crucial and recreational
equivalent venue, we can begin to create a quality and comprehensive urban space that
activates residents and invites them to sports, play, socialize and relax.
The sports house is located in the space taking into account the existing geometry of the Primary School and Šentjernej Kindergarten,
at the same time, it is oriented according to official regulations for outdoor and indoor sports areas. Sports complex
hall, the Olympic pool and the grandstand of the athletic stadium, connects the interspace, which serves as an entrance
volume. Through it, the main communications take place, which take care of the appropriate interweaving of different users.
The installation of a new sports facility near the school provides direct covered connections provided to schoolchildren
represent security, while at the same time, for educational purposes, the school premises, which are now
intended for sports activities.
By choosing materials, we want to prove a responsible approach to sustainable construction. The buried parts of the building are due
the nature of construction; moisture, carried out in reinforced concrete, the rest of the thermal envelope; walls and roof, however
they are made of wooden frame constructions.

Project description

STARTING POINTS FOR DESIGN

Maintain quality access and, if necessary, create new access. Subordination of motor traffic to cycling and walking; arrangement of a network of footpaths and cycle paths. Utilization of vacant building land, in the cultivation area, for the location of sports and recreational facilities and areas. Creating new parks, squares and places to relax. Placing rest areas away from major noise sources. On / connection with the already existing sports and educational infrastructure. Creating separate inputs for different types of users. Preservation of well-placed parking lots. Encouraging the possibility of using public transport for urban passenger transport.

CONCEPT CONCEPT

The volumes are placed in the space taking into account the existing geometry of the surrounding facilities, and at the same time they are oriented according to the official regulations for outdoor and indoor sports areas. The complex of the sports hall, the Olympic swimming pool and the grandstand of the athletic stadium, connects the interspace, which serves as the entrance volume. Through it, the main communications take place, which ensures that the interweaving of different users is not too frequent and disturbing, and at the same time directs the users of the premises to the halls clearly and transparently. With its fragmentation, the complex imitates the already existing volume of the Šentjernej Primary School, and at the same time creates new interesting ambiences for the outdoor space.

CONSTRUCTION PHASE - CURRENT SITUATION

The goal of the construction analysis is the smooth implementation of all major programs through all phases of construction, and the addition of new ones. The main programs are education, as well as indoor and outdoor sports activities. The Šentjernej Primary School building currently houses a sports hall and educational facilities, with the need to expand. Next to the building is a small athletic stadium and some additional outdoor sports areas.

PHASE OF CONSTRUCTION - PHASE 1

With the construction of a new sports hall, north of the primary school, space is being freed up in the latter for new educational departments. The building is directly connected to the basement passage. Outdoor sports activities run smoothly. The road between the facilities becomes a pedestrian zone, accessible only to intervention vehicles. The space of the bus station remains unchanged, and the parking lot moves closer to the main road to the east of the plot.

PHASE OF CONSTRUCTION - PHASE 2

Construction of a facility with an Olympic pool and a shallow pool for non-swimmers. This also involves the users of the neighboring building - the kindergarten. By shifting the volumes, the outdoor spaces create new ambiences suitable for socializing and relaxing. Upon the planned construction of a new facility on the adjacent plot, a new access will be established, which will be connected to the existing pedestrian zone. Parking lots maintain their position at this stage.

PHASE OF CONSTRUCTION - PHASE 3

Grandstands along the west side of the new athletic stadium, prescribed dimensions and orientation. Area of additional outdoor sports areas, adapted to the number of departments of primary school and kindergarten. The entrance area is occupied by a new parking lot, which is adapted to the number of users of the school and sports complex. New walking and traffic routes have been established. With the concept of landscaping, the desired barriers are taken into account on the plot.

Technical information

METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION
By choosing materials, we want to prove a responsible approach to sustainable construction. Wood is chosen as the primary construction material. The buried parts of the building are due to the nature of the construction; moisture, carried out in reinforced concrete, the rest of the thermal envelope; the walls and roof are made of wooden frame structures. The perimeter load-bearing walls are thus made of cross-glued panels, which are additionally reinforced with wooden ribs, between which cellulose thermal insulation is blown. The final layer of the external walls is represented by wood-fiber thermal insulation boards, on which the contact facade is made.
The roof is completely insulated with thermal insulation from cellulose flakes. The final layer is extensive landscaping, on which PV panels for electricity production can also be subsequently installed.
Due to the requirements of the fire safety study, the fixed part of the grandstands in the interior is made of reinforced concrete, which in turn has a positive effect on the indoor climate and overall energy balance, as it represents a mass that accumulates heat and thus helps reduce primary energy needs for heating. object.

ENERGY DESIGN AND INSTALLATIONS
The foundation slab of the building is insulated with 55cm of foam glass, the perimeter walls with 35cm, and the roof with 40cm of thermal insulation from cellulose flakes. All glass surfaces have triple glazing and suitable external blinds to prevent overheating in the summer months.
For the highest level of energy saving, the installation of LED lights is planned exclusively on the entire building.

FURNISHINGS
The interior of the building is characterized by materials such as wood, exposed concrete, white plaster and glass. Elements of equipment create a restrained but elegant interior ambience.

ACOUSTIC WALL COVERINGS
Wooden acoustic panels made of perforated plywood are an effective solution for sound attenuation in gyms, cultural centers, educational institutions, restaurants and wherever it is necessary to provide good acoustic conditions. The wooden acoustic wall covering ensures good sound absorption over the entire frequency range. We mount it on walls, columns, ceilings in all types of rooms. The unique plywood-based wall cladding system is also ball-resistant in gyms. Therefore, it is especially useful in rooms where sports activities are carried out and it is necessary to improve the acoustic conditions. In addition, slot acoustic cladding combines the warmth and beauty of wood and provides excellent acoustics.
The Berlin sports floor is one of the best sports floors from the manufacturer Haro, which is used in the largest sports halls. The mentioned sports floor has a double elastic support, which provides excellent conditions for ball bounce and shock absorption. It can be mounted on a concrete slab even if it is not completely flat, as it is point-supported and leveled. With special carrier systems, we can also install pipes for underfloor heating and thus ensure the heating of the sports hall.
The Berlin sports floor is available in two different versions, the difference being in their total height.
