Project idea

Constructively, the project is based on an addition of hexagonal modules,
the size of 40 x 15 m, thus creating a grid based on the module three-room, repeated, in a radial mesh, around a vacuum relationship and communication between plants.The common spaces are distributed in height, instead of concentrated on the ground floor, enjoying each plan of a space for common uses. Regarding construction techniques and of the finishes of the buildings it has been decided to use a structure of load-bearing concrete walls, this solution is appropriate for the need of making retaining walls at many points that in turn form part of the building structure, will have painted plastered finishes white latex paint. As horizontal structural elements are decides to use metal beams and make hollow core concrete slabs of 20 cm thick allowing large spans appropriate for this type of solution that together with the supporting concrete walls get good stiffness. Wood has been used as a carpentry material and used wood as a material for building ceilings.
The interior decorative elements are projected in wood generating a
material continuity between interior and exterior space.

Project description

The winding shape also protects residents from the street that borders the lake, the spaces formed between the buildings allow this to be related to the university as well as foster interaction between students and the environment.The complex is surrounded by green areas that leave it open to the lake through the facade south, and the vehicular access that connects it with the rest of the university on the north side, establishing the main flows through the perimeter sidewalks to the lot with connections to access the building.The building has, due to its curved and counter-curved shape, a very powerful external spatial figure, which forms interior spaces such as trapezoids and rectangles that appear constantly.

Technical information

FOUNDATION
For the building a foundation will be arranged at different levels. The solution foundation is solved by concrete walls with running footing centered.
STRUCTURE
The building is resolved through the use of concrete partition walls with beams steel in its horizontal structure, on these supporting elements
Solid 20 cm high honeycomb concrete slabs are arranged.
In the faces that do not exist concrete walls, an enclosure has been chosen of aluminum luvers.
COVER
A light slab cover is made in which it is also implemented polycarbonate dome skylights with steel structure in their openings.
SANITATION
The network of sanitary facilities is designed for the correct evacuation of
water, both residual and rainwater, from the collection points to
the connection to the public sewer network. A separative system will be used with two independent networks, one to rainwater and another for residuals. Drainage systems will be by gravity in the interior of buildings. The roof storm drain will also be by downspouts arranged on the facade of the building Canalization systems it will be in plastic materials for underground or aerial sanitation with pressure.The facilities for the supply of cold water and hot water sanitary of the student residence once the water of the connection and stored in a cistern will go through the sanitary pipes to the points where it is needed. Installation ducts are used specially designed for the use of these for the placement of uprights vertical which will distribute the requested water by floors.
