Project idea

The main idea was to create a modern new building of the complex, which will meet all the requirements of operation, function and will have a positive approach to all age and social groups. Emphasis was placed on maintaining the height level in relation to the surrounding landscape structure. The architectural expression emphasizes its functionality, usability and importance. As the main material of the tribune roofing, a light-colored trapezoidal sheet metal in combination with photovoltaic panels is used, which will carry a glued truss in combination with a steel structure. The building behind the club is located below the starting hill and is "inserted" into it, which creates the natural appearance of the rampart. The interior will be dominated by a surface treatment in the form of visible white concrete. The grandstand, under which there is a café with a shop and service, is gradually following the surrounding terrain. The facade is designed as exposed concrete in combination with sheet metal lamellas above the glazed surfaces. For safety reasons, there is a railing in the form of a steel bar on the grandstand, which will be filled with a net.

Project description

Definition and character of the building
The topic of the studio work is the design of the concept of the solution of the bicross track in Brno-Komárov and especially the design of the interior of the club space with refreshments and other associated operations. Today's condition of the complex does not correspond in its appearance or layout to the representative function of the Favorit club. The track currently does not have adequate equipment - club rooms, operating facilities, service, medical facilities, hygiene, etc., as well as grandstands, start-up space, commissioners' facilities, parking spaces for cars and trailers at national and international competitions. The project monitors the integration of the building into the environment of the defined area of the bicross track in the context of the surrounding structure of the built-up area.
The scope and type of proposed interventions in a given place respect the importance of the club. The area will be used by club members as well as the public of all ages and social groups, citizens of productive age, seniors, students and young people. The focus of the architectural-design study is the design of a modern sports ground, including the necessary operation of social and technical facilities - club, cafe, service. The building is designed clearly and with regard to the barrier-free movement of immobile persons with limited mobility.

Urban solution
The aim of the design is to create a modern sports ground, where in a strategic place under the starting hill there is a club, which is followed by service, shop and cafe, above which there is a grandstand, from which it will be possible to watch what is happening at the racetrack and provide a view of the river and a nearly golf club. At the entrance to the club facilities, there is a place for cleaning bicycles and in front of the cafe building on the side of the bike path is designed a place to store bicycles. In addition to the starting hill, a circuit for children is designed, which can also be used during races for the competitors to start.
Emphasis was placed on the most efficient use of land space, the logical arrangement of functions. The revitalized area will be supplemented with new greenery in the form of mature trees, shrubs and similar cultures that fit into this environment.

Layout solution
The new building of the complex consists of club facilities, a café, a service shop and a covered grandstand. The facility is located below the starting hill and consists of changing rooms including showers and toilets for men and women, an infirmary, a bicycle warehouse and a room for storing club items, a technical room. The individual rooms are connected by a corridor that leads through the entire hill to the bike path, where there is a cafe and a service shop. At the entrance to the cafe, there is a reserved area for club members, allowing friendly meetings or team meetings and other club events. It is also equipped with a toilet for men, women and the immobile, preparation room, warehouse, office, utility room, cloakroom and toilet for employees. The service store has facilities for staff, office and warehouse. The building is optimally lit thanks to the appropriately chosen placement of windows and skylights.

Technical information

The construction system of the roof of the grandstand and the starting hill is made of glued trusses in combination with a steel structure. The background and the café with a shop are designed as a monolithic concrete structure.
