Project idea

The design of the coliseum SQUARE starts from the historical analysis of the place and is inspired by the shape of Nerone’s pond which in ancient Rome occupies the place of the amphitheater.

Project description

The project aims to inscribe the Colosseum through a continuous open portico that manages to resolve the public space through the inhabited wall and various terraces.

Technical information

The open portico is the key to creating an austere square. The material chosen is the typical Roman travertine which reflects the amphitheater in color and weight.
