Revival of the 6th sense - A remediation trail at Nilwala estuary, Matara,Srilanka.

Project idea

Aim and objectives of this projects is to re-mediate the issues in the nilwala estuary and surrounding. Surrounding people are the users and they will experience the landscape physically and mentally.

Project description

Reviving the 6th sense is the main of this project or trail. Along this trail people will experience different spaces in an order to re-mediate the issues. The trail will be by walking and boat ride. People first experience the situation along the river bed and mangrove bed, then they experience the importance of mangrove and proposed floating harbour. People will experience and can gather informations about phytoremediation in another space. In the plastic awareness gallery people can get aware of plastic and reusing it. In last the will be a rememerizing area to recall the whole journey and recreation

Technical information

Details and techniques used in floating desks and docks. Abandoned boats and barrels are used as floating metric. Sustainable and Eco-friendly materials are mostly used. For visualization soft landscapings done using native plants especially mangrove species. Cortent steel used as a material in space space to create some feelings to the purpose of the space.
