Project idea

In response to vicinities such as City Theater, it is attempted that the building is completely horizontal and has a suitable height according to the City Theater. To create a sense of inviting and more relation with the City Theater, a part of the project can make better relation with the City Theater by creating a Plaza along with urban furniture. From the City Theater, the building locates with a slope and a labyrinth with commercial functions and café, to invite more people in. From Valiasr St., there is also a denting to create a better inviting sense.
As we should have kept people’s mental image about the mosques, which they think that mosques should have minaret and dome, and also by considering the point that during the Prophet's era, the mosques were completely horizontal and without minarets and dome, we designed a minaret, because up to now, from a period, the repetition of the minaret is seen more than a dome. It is attempted that keeping a single minaret as a tall religious symbol is recognizable in Valiasr St. and also it keeps a mental image. As this project has both cultural and religious functions, it is very important to make a suitable relation with these two functions in one building.
The next point is that how these two functions can be beside each other and overlap each other while being recognizable separately, the way that a spiritual atmosphere is seen along with a complex cultural, algorithmic and geometric features. A cubic shape makes more concentration and with a reference to the past, we can mention that Masjed Al-Nabi had a square plan. So the Shabestan (where people pray) is cubic and in the direction with the holly kiblah and gets skylight from the south. Around the cube, there is an inner-yard which is of Islamic Architecture and a place for the creation of silence for entering to the internal atmosphere of the Shabestan.
The main point in this Project is as follow: this complex with two different and separate functions are beside each other with different algorithms, and they overlap each other and finally create a coalesce complex that can be defined as a complete project and plays its role as a cultural and religious complex truly.

Project description

Brief:
The main point in this Project is as follow: this complex with two different and separate functions are beside each other with different algorithms, and they overlap each other and finally create a coalesce complex that can be defined as a complete project and plays its role as a cultural and religious complex truly.

The Context and the Questions:
The mosque is the symbol of Islam. Mosque makes people remain away from the busy external world and think to themselves and God which makes people get to tranquility. Iran is an Islamic country, so the presence of a basic religious symbol is very important. The problem is that in Valiasr St., in Tehran which is the longest street in the Middle East, there is no religious function and it has various functions. In other words, we can say it is a cultural and political street and the lack of religious function could be seen. Another problem is that modern mosques in Iran get into trouble because these mosques can’t make a suitable image in people’s mind and people don’t consider these places as a mosque.
Another problem that was mentioned in the site, is the existence of some vicinities such as Tehran's City Theater which is considered as one of the most important cultural and historical heritages of Tehran. This building is also very important to people who were near this kind of places and have memories with them, so making relation with that building is something that should be considered. The next vicinity of this site is Daneshjoo Park that people who use this park are from every age and type, and they certainly need some religious, educational, cultural and relational needs that should be available for them. So the suitable way to connect with this park and to invite its users is also very important. The next vicinities are the neighborhood residential buildings.
