Project idea

Kolonnawa, a city that developed as a backyard of Colombo hosts a network of industries and warehouses along with a densely packed low lying residential population though the common edge is left as a dead space.

Project description

Therefore, the vision of the Urban Design Intervention is to create a thermally comfortable communal corridor by interconnecting the segregated urban green pockets, public space, pedestrian and vehicular arteries which also fulfills the residents need of a public open space to catalyse outdoor human activity and as a solution to lack of interaction which has created anumerous social issues.
