Project idea

The main aim of the design was to create the feeling of flight or departure by manipulating the form and function and experiment on structure and space creation.

Project description

As an expansion project for the existing “Alula Aba Nega” airport, it is a separate small-size international airport for Mekelle city. It has all the necessary programs in the given catchment area. Through the design process, I try to express the ideas on the facade, inside the spaces using increasing and decreasing room height, on the form using flying structure starting from the ground and structural expression using dancing columns to emphasize the dynamic nature of the fighting process.
