Project idea

The big theme, "Bandung as Creative and Educational City" is chosen because architect sees a big potential of the site to increase the creative industry in Bandung. That potency become the main purpose of the design, that is developing young entrepreneurship in Bandung. In architecture, it is realized in the form of a space; for young entrepreneur to promote their business.

Project description

The design is named M Hotel; M stands for marche, from French, means market or walking. Both of them have connection with the design, due to the intention to bring "avenue" atmosphere on the ground level, as one of the outcome of urban context concept. Pedestrian walk is one of the main focus in design, is wide and assimilate with the podium level, creating avenue which has retail function, for people to gather, shop, and walk around.

Technical information

The hotel has the total of 10 floor, with 1 semi-basement and 2 basement for parking and utility purposes. The ground level is raised 1.2meter of the ground, to provide air circulation for the semi-basement, to make loading dock on the ground level, and to create a difference of space between pedestrian and ground level, since it has no walls to separate them. The hotel has textile gallery, swimming pool (semi-outdoor), restaurant, conference rooms, and a total of 70 rooms.
