Project idea

After thorough analysis of the site, my main objective became to provide the visitors of the town and the locals with the possibility to enjoy a public space, as well as a museum, which wouldn't interfere with the surrounding nature (the beautiful sea, ancient ruins and ancient town). My main goal was to create a bridge between people and the beauty of the shore.

Project description

After the idea was clear it was time for the hard-work process to achieve it. The main priority is not to block the view and path to the panoramic view over the sea. This is achieved by elevating the whole building, with the usage of ramps, which act as exhibitions space, as well as giving full accessibility to all visitors. It is a well-known fact that most museums/galleries do not function 24h, so I decided that the rooftop could be used even after work hours or for people, who'd like to use it only as a meeting point and public space, not being obligated to go into the building. That way the site of the museum could be used by locals, as well as tourists, giving them both a place with one of the most extraordinarily beautiful views of the Balkans.
