Idea projektu

Assignment: To create a spatial structure complementing or enveloping existing, untransformed industrial remains architecture on the territory of the former Kladno (the Vojtěšská huť, Poldina ironwork).
Concept: At the beginning of the concept I tried to follow in existing objects. One hall is more open, as the perimeter walls between the reinforced concrete pillars have already been demolished. While in the second northern hall, the filling perimeter masonry was preserved for the most part. My intention was not to create two identical halls, but I try to make a difference and do not want to confirm the symmetry of these objects. I add to the current structures a frame construction that follows the form of reinforced concrete pillars and ribs and defines a new layer. This structure is roofed and the visitor realizes at the entrance under the roof that it is located in a special space, in the place where something is happening. New elements are added to the new layer - in the form of a gallery box and auditorium (in a more enclosed hall), towers with vertical communications (between the halls), a second hall with a kinobox and a "Touch Architecture" footbridge beneath ferroconcrete ribs and a ceiling hoppers.

Popis projektu

Architectural and Constructional Solutions: There is an attempt to reduce the original building substance, attempt to humble access and showcase the beauty of the existing remains of industrial architecture. Greater hits are found in the new layer space. These spaces are more cleaned for the very essence by crushing the perimeter walls and removing the original roof. Frame steel construction is made of steel welded closed rectangular cross-sections and is supplemented with tensioners in order to achieve the same height of the beam and thickness of the frame stand. The gallery box is made up of a skeleton structure that is covered with black peripheral panels. In the 1st floor there is a cash desk and café, the 2nd floor is made up of one exhibition space. The tower and walkways are made up of closed steel profiles that create frames that are connected to each other. The ramp between the halls is then formed by I-profiles and the floor is made of porosity. Kinobox is designed as a lightweight skeleton, and visitors will be able to see documents about Kladno and former metallurgy.

Technické informace

Composition of the Roof Shell:
The roof panels are composed of laminated glass - 3 layers of float glass, each layer of 15 mm thick. The individual panels have dimensions of 2x3 m and the slope is achieved by means of special steel pins which are fixed to the roof rails.
Drainage of the Roof:
The drainage is realized using stainless steel roof troughs. These gutters are at a pitch of 2% and copy the direction of the frame structure. Enclosures are provided by welded closed steel profiles, which are of different height and are welded to the frame structure, more precisely to the transverse frames.
Roof Structure:
This structure is mainly made by the cross-section of the frame construction, which is realized as welded closed steel profiles with dimensions 500 x 1000 mm. These struts are reinforced by steel rods (and short pressed posts to form a buckle structure), each of which is connected by means of 150 x 300 mm closed steel profiles, which provide interaction and serve as a support for the special steel mandrels on which they are laid The roof stiffness provides a bracing construction made by pulling rods in one of the bars between the bars.
Frame Construction:
This design is made up of studs and pillars. Stands are made as welded steel closed profiles 500 x 1000 mm at a total height of 22.4 m. They are interconnected by other closed steel profiles, which shorten the buckling length and ensure their mutual interaction. Stability is also provided by steel brace reinforcement. The joints are predominantly welded to achieve greater design elegance. The same is the case for the frame corner.
