Idea projektu

the project is the adaptive reuse of heritage buildings and structures in Alexandria, Egypt. the chosen structure was the Mandara windmill: The old Mandara windmill is situated in the area of the Mandara Sea close to the Alexandria Corniche. Its establishment dates back to the era of Muhammad Ali Pasha in the year 1807, and its function was to grind the grain. It is a circular cylindrical shape consisting of a lower circular part, topped by an upper circular part at a height of three white stone courses. Pointed out that the entrance is located on the tribal side, which is a rectangular shape with a semi-circular arch. The entrance advances seven steps of stairs and opens in the body of the mill with three windows, two windows on the seaside and one on the eastern side, which is a rectangular shape with the purpose of lighting and ventilation.

As for the mill from the inside, the director of the Islamic Monuments Region said that when entering the mill on the left there is a semi-circular scale of 37 degrees and the ladder is built on the shoulders of the building stock to the body of the mill from the inside. Wooden ceilings) between them in the form of a square in addition to the wooden cap

Popis projektu

the scope of the project is to connect the heritage building with new innovative buildings with abstraction and the new building is the icon of the future and present (the latest innovation and the first innovation side by side) .because the Mandara windmill is the biggest invention at its time
that is why it was important to create a research building that concerned technology and innovation especially after the growth of the number of developers in the middle eastern and over the world also.
The project context is well-ventilated according to the AWEA Small Wind Turbine Performance and Safety Standard, the Rated Annual Energy of a wind turbine is the calculated total energy that would be produced during a 1-year period with an average wind speed of 5 meters/second (m/s, or 11.2 mph).

Technické informace

Mandara windmills were an exceptional innovation in its era that explain how humankind has developed a new tool that help him in agricultural work. Now in our time, we should reflect on our era that is full of creativity and mind-blowing technology that help people in their life.
structure system of the project is stell structure the project was aimed at the wind power that exists in the Alexandria region and use it to be the main supply of electricity and restoring the old windmill with new wind turbines and also adding the new generation of wind turbine which is the solid stated wind energy: This process is called "electrohydrodynamics''The wire was the electrically isolated
mast. There were two types of wires in the prototype.
Simple wire and emitter wire containing a small tuft of carbon 7 microns in diameter
| Fibers are attached about every 15 cm. When a small negative current flows through the emitter
Wired, the tuft causes a corona discharge and
releases negative ions into the air.
