Idea projektu

War is one of the most important humanitarian challenges of our time. One of the greatest consequences of war is global forced displacement. Accordıng to the Unıted Natıons (UN) report, millions of people have been forced displaced at the early 2018 to live in other places. It is said that if a country has the population of only the number of displaced by war, it will be the 30 largest country in the world. These people, taking action wıth the hope of a new place, are also bullyed where they go. Due to the increased situation of forced displacement, new definitions of refugees have been made. In the 2019 un reports, regarding displaced people, these people are not passive victims, but active agents. Social agent are the influencers of the social structure. How can these social agents create their lives without impacting states, institutions, communities, and current settlement norms of thinking and behavior?

In this project, a liberal, democratic, egalitarian living organization without any state implemented social life is suggested forced displaced people.Where can this life organization be built? Can this life organization be built by reinterpreting the imagine limits defined by countries? Border is a line separing nations from each other, it is a mechanism of exchangement.Weak points in the project were determİned, where the border is available for expansion. A point was detected where the border is naturally dropped. The Euphrates. It has been determined that the Euphrates is a natural structure that blocks wıth Turkey and Syria despite the borders, rejecting the definition of the border. At this point, which is the project area, an autonomous area was detected by two states. Results, it has been decided to conduct the project in the Euphrates and in this autonomous region.

A life bridge was installed in the autonomous area between two
countries in the project. The arms of the life bridge are designed according to the roads. The bridge rejects the border between two countries and its fluidity. It represents permeability. The form of the bridge is created with the concept of 'Fluidity' and 'Combination'. The bridge is the transportation and social layer of the project. Life organization is designed on the social layer. The circulation ramp provides the connection between the bridge and the living area. This ramp creates spaces in the living area. The ramp is detached from the bridge, creating spaces, streets, and spaces on floorings. Product warehouse on the first floors of the living area. The processing and production areas are the social areas and the needs exchange areas. The second floor has education, health and social facilities. The third and fourth floors are the floors with the living units. Spaces and grills(5x5) are designed for the living units. According to the number of people, sheltering units are installed on the grill. The square meters of the living units are enlarged with additional units depending on the situation. The space created by the ramp opening from the bridge is the space of expression. There are production workshops around this space. Production continues together in workshops. Daily needs are met. The production power of people continues. Big columns, the main bearing element of the building, are also vertical circulation area. The autonomous area between two countries is designed as agricultural and production area.

Technické informace

The main carrier system of the project is large columns (4mx4m). Main columns are also used for vertical circulation. These loads are transferred by truss systems on the facade. The floors are connected to each other by these trusses and large columns. Large columns are connected to each other by main beams. The main beams are supported by auxiliary beams.
For the living units on the 3rd and 4th floors, a grid system is created from metal beams. This grid system connects to spaces in the floor.
