Idea projektu

"Proyecto Tequila" consists of a boutique hotel which is located in the city of Tequila, in Jalisco - México. It offers not only lodgement but also a wide variety of leisure activities for visitors to enjoy in family.
It was designed mainly to be part of the "Ruta del Tequila", which is one of the Jalisco´s tourist attractions.
The generating idea comes from the intention to adapt the hotel to its topography, using Mayan cultural aspects. In that way, the proyect spreads itself across the land to encourage the guests to move through it. And, because of that, they can enjoy the landscape in which the hotel joins the city.

Popis projektu

The project is not conformed by one, but a set of buildings connected to each other, involving diverse activities. The main building holds the principal functions , which are: administration, reception, restaurant, general services and a multiple use room. Around it, a modern room´s sector can be found. It is composed by some simple bedrooms and suits, all of them with an incredible view to the lake, that brings a comfortable sensation to the guests. Appart from that, the hotel also offers bungalows, with its own spacious outside space, for those who preffer a more private option. Also, another building conforms a spa center, which provides all the relaxation services that the user deserves. Appart from that, a Tequila´s Museum can be discovered and it is where, the drink with that name, can be taste as while its history is known. What is more, the project includes the vegetation of the place, from where tequila is obtained: the agave plant.

Technické informace

A meaningful interest for this project, was to design it in a ecological way. This is why, the materials that characterizes the hotel are easily found around the place in which it is located, and they are: stone, concrete and glass.
In addition to the ecological impact, the position and location of each building allow its correct ventilation and sunning.
Also, because of the intention to adapt the hotel to its topography, the buildings and the paths are resolved with different contructive solutions. In some areas, such as the rooms´s block and some paths as the one over the lake, piles were needed to form the foundations. While, in other zones, excavations or landfills were executed. However, it didn´t mean an important modification to the field´s original form.
