Idea projektu

The Project main idea is to design a bookstore with a cafe space in an existing warehouse located in Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. The goal is to design a creative units that are assembled inside the warehouse, and in my case I used curvy shapes inspired by Aalto's designs.

Popis projektu

The project explores the concept of curvilinear shapes and waves that are inspired by Alvar Aalto’s 43 chair. Plywood and translucent glass are the materials used in this project to keep the spaces minimal and light. Using the wood grain as a pattern followed throughout the design to keep it consistent for example, linear lights are placed within the upper curved part which acts as a canopy look.

Technické informace

The main focus in this project is on providing good quality renders to show more detailed and how the curves work with dividing the space. Also, I created a model that shows the wavy curves in contrast to the existing space.

Spoluautoři

it is an individual project which was instructed by Professor Jason Carlow during my studies in American University of Sharjah.
