Project idea

Our objective for this contest was to design and remodel the current Ouagadougou theater, in order to achieve a great attraction for the entire population, offering a great diversity of cultural and recreational activities. This was done in order to achieve a sustainable, comfortable and functional project, respecting the materials and construction technologies of the place.

Project description

The Ouagadougu Cultural Center is an amazing multidisciplinary place where you can find numerous cultural activities surrounding its main attraction: The great amphitheater. Accompanying this, there are spaces for rehearsals and learning about different arts, an exhibition hall, library, craft fairs and various facilities to make the experience at the Ouagadougu Cultural Center very comfortable.
Its main access starts from a large pedestrian promenade with a bike path that accompanies the terrain along its western limit. From this, you enter a large road, where you will later turn to the public sector where the main access to the theater is located, facing a large central courtyard with activities around it, and on the other side of the central street. the semi-public sector where the Labo area, workshops and the CDC are located.
