Project idea

Indonesia has a vast area of water as well as a wealth of fishery resources and abundant expansing but not fully optimized. In addition, Indonesia has the ideals as the world maritime axis in its construction there are five pillars as revealed by the Bureau of Information and Law Coordinator of the coordinating field of taxation, among others, building the Indonesian maritime culture, preserving the sea and sea resources, with the focus of building sea food sovereignty through the development of the fishery industry by placing fishermen as the main pillar. The third pillar is to give priority to infrastructure development and maritime connectivity, by establishing sea tolls, deep seaport, logistics and shipping industries, and maritime tourism. The fourth pillar is to strengthen maritime diplomacy, cooperation in the marine field, eliminating the source of conflict in the sea such as fish theft, violation of sovereignty, territorial disputes, piracy, and marine pollution. Lastly, build a maritime defense force to safeguard the sovereignty and maritime richness as well as a form of responsibility in maintaining the safety of shipping and maritime security.

One of the facilities needed to support the pillars is a research center devoted to the development of maritime research and technology as proclaimed by the Ministry of Maritime and Fisheries. According to Coordinator Minister for Maritime Luhut, this research and research project can be used as an investment in the field of technology and education and improve cooperation and relationship between the parties in the field of marine science and technology. Coordinator Minister Luhut also mentions the Indonesian government's desire to have a research cooperation in the field of environment that is currently continuing cooperation with Korea. "We are very serious about environmental problems, suistanability (sustainability) is both on land and in the sea, and we also want to achieve the Sustainability Development Goals (Sdgy'S), so we also want Korea can help to jointly handle the marine debris problem," he has.

Project description

Building implements floating architecture concept in which the foundation of the building is installed something resembling the hull that can accommodate the air so that the building is able to float on the surface of the water. In certain parts, it is positioned below sea level so that visitors are able to peek or see the ecosystem under the sea directly from within the building.

By utilizing this concept, the building will not damage the ecosystem underneath it because of the floating building body. In the shallow waters of Karimunjawa Island there are still many coral reefs. The use of strong materials is very important to overcome the weathering that occurs like the use of coated iron so that it is not easily rusty. Wood is used also very strong Ulin wood against termite attack and water waves and storms.

In the building, it will also be applied energy conversion system derived from seawater waves into electrical energy. Not only sea water waves, but also sunlight and wind to be used as electric energy generator by installing solar panels and wind turbines. In addition, the building will also implement a sea water conversion system into fresh water that is ready to drink.

For the location, if the location is strategic and suitable for the establishment of the facility is Karimunjawa Island. The reason for this location is because Karimunjawa Island is included in National Park Conservation Area. The location in Jepara district is suitable because it is close to several fishing port, nature tourism, coral reef habitat and turtle habitat. The location is quite strategic so it is able to observe in real-time. Access to the location is also easy because it can be reached by boat from the port of Kartini located in Jepara with a time range of 2-3 hours.

Technical information

1. Floating System
The Material used as a foundation or floating system in this building is EPS (Expanded Polystyrene). The popular EPS is known as one of the best materials for producing floats, pontoons and buoyancy systems because it has excellent physical properties. In addition, the material is mild in weight and has good buoyancy and durability. Generally Buoys, Pontoons and Floats work on Archimedes ' principle of "Every floating object removes the weight of the liquid itself ". As for technically there is no standard design, form or pattern for floats, pontoons and floats, it is purely tailored based on the application.

2. Superstructure (Wall and Floor)
For the structure at the top, every wall and floor plate used precast wall panels for various reasons, such as:
a. High Thermal insulation
These walls have unsurpassed isolation properties so they can be used in different climatic conditions and also act as thermal storage areas that can reduce or maintain the level of temperature within the establishment.

b. Environmentally friendly
The core material used in the manufacture of insulation wall panels is sustainable and environmentally friendly EPS. Because it is made from Graypor there is minimal energy and debris that can be found when fabrication of wall panels.

c. Effective
Since the panel itself has high thermal insulation properties, it can save cost as well as energy. This Panel is also durable enough to withstand different weather conditions. In addition, there is no need to spend too much maintenance because it has almost maintenance of free building components.

d. Physical Property Expellant
Not only waterproof, but also resistant to fire, lightweight, and capable of isolating sound.

3. Plafond
The type of material used for the ceiling is the light color of the the steel Board. The reason this material is used is because it is easy to clean in its maintenance, it is easy to installation, it has strong resistance and is also an affordable price.

4. Doors
Door Material used glass and fiberglass. Glass doors are used in public zones, offices and labs, with the reason the doors with glass materials have a low durability and lower privacy level. Meanwhile fiberglass is used in the private area because of its high level of privacy. The Material is also strong, lightweight, and safe and has a high level of insulation.

5. Window
All the windows in the building are made of UV clear glass material that is able to ward off the UV rays from the sun so as to reduce the heat effect from sunlight coming directly. In addition, the frame used is a frame with fiberglass material is very strong in nature, lightweight, safe and has a high level of insulation.
