Project idea

The main idea of ​​the project is; create a building from the culture, architecture of the site, worldview of Mexico and with this data carry out a project based on Architecture (Appropriate Modernity).
Highlighting a mix of styles to give a degree of complexity to the project. Where the initial purpose is to provide that the Building is accessible to people and to the city of Tequila (Mexico).

Project description

HOTEL DOBLE ALTURA, is a building located in Tequila (Mexico), with an area of ​​5200 m2. It has two accesses (by route and by train tracks), at each point it is composed of a reception (arrival sector), and connected by roads (with parking and public spaces); where they connect and relate to the Hotel.
In turn, the Building is constituted by a reception (Main Access) and another Secondary Access.
The need program is composed of: Reception, Administration, Food and Beverages (bar, kitchen, restaurant, wine cellar, bathroom), Accommodation, Recreation (multipurpose room), wellness center, general services and train station.
All these spaces are organized around courtyards and seek the link between man and nature (such as the Alhambra in Granada) through the senses. The Double Height Hotel, contemplates its surroundings (city) with its towers and with a very important role in the landscape, since it is located in a sector higher than the city.
Its design is based on the combination of the Alhambra in Granada and some architects' projects: Mies van der Rohe, Luis Barragan, Pedro Ramírez Váquez.

Technical information

The building is located within the land in an area of ​​low slope since it allows the leveling of it.
As for the structural part, it can be said that it is constituted by columns (with arches) of solid ceramic brick masonry, the domes by reinforced masonry, (Byzantine domes in common spaces and Contemporary Domes in the accommodations).
The inverted source and the water collectors (it solves the problem of the lack of Water in the place), and the solar panels work as a solar energy collector to provide a good service to the Hotel.
