Idea projektu

The project is set in Hanoi city in the next decade, not only the capital but
the surrounding areas will become the next megacity of Southeast Asia. The
development of the country in the process of industrialization and mod
ernization strongly means that the urban reconstruction is obvious, the city
needs a space to carry out that transformation process. And people, ener
gy and nature in it are things that need to be put aside temporarily, waiting
to return to their old land when it has got a new look, a new quality of life.

Areas that are influenced are the areas that are abandoned right in the centre
of Hanoi, specifically those are the old factories that are yet processed. These
areas in Hanoi are polluted due to being near garbage and waste air, mainly
due to heavy metal amounts coming from industrial activities of factories that
produce matter which hardly compost in the soil. Among those, industrial gar
bage accounts for 17%. The amount of high risk garbage coming from industrial
activities is about 330.000 tons. Especially that 75% of the garbage comes from
the key economic areas in the South and 25% comes from big cities such as Ha
noi and Ho Chi Minh city. According to statistics found in 2005, Hanoi bears 31
tons of safe industrial garbage and 59.3 tons of high risk industrial garbage ev
ery day. These waste matters still exist in industrial areas in the city even though
they have been and are being transported for a while. An example for this proj
ect is the Rang Dong factory

Popis projektu

We propose reusing, turning “dead” cells into localized patches of forest by transplanting a tree of life into the area with a long-term and
sustainable goal of reconstructing the ecosystem in the near future. This is a model that solves the problem of temporary human habita
tion during the process of urban reconstruction, providing people with a living space that carries the soul of their place. In the process of
being taken away, people can continue to participate in the process of reconstructing the natural structure that is gradually disappearing
by building a temporary housing model, turning people into sentient trees, living with trees, so that we become part of the reconstruc
tion of the broken ecological chain, thereby partly changing the immature human perception of the natural environment and planting
a seed in the minds of the next generation.
In a more distant scenario, after the urban reconstruction is completed, people will return to their new living space; the living modules will
be separated, while other natural systems will continue to grow in the trees without any influence. The tree now serves as a green patch,
expanding the urban area which will shrink in the future, further healing the severely damaged urban ecosystem. The regeneration and
restoration take place not only with the trees; the organisms that the soil degrades are also purified during that process, while at the
same time resonating with the restoration of the entire area around them.

Urbanization exerts an outsized influence over the climate as well as imbalancing the
Earth’s energy, which then leads to various changes in physiological and biochemical
conditions. Consequently, the patterns of vegetation of those urban landscapes are dra
matically altered; moreover, human actions extremely take control of factors belonging
to climate, hydrology, creature and soil. Additionally, the main consequence of excessive
interferences of human in natural ecosystems is the imbalance and collapse of food
chains. At the same time, rapid increases of immigration flow accompanied by urban
sprawl accelerate the popularity and building density. Besides, that urban land areas are
narrowed down originates form massively forced strategies in urban landscape planing and managing of land-usd changes, triggering hanoi become the "compress" city
