Idea projektu

Revitalising housing estates requires compromise. Residents seek everyday improvements, while the city focuses on long-term development. Our design team acts as a mediator, initiating constructive dialogue between both sides. The core issue lies in conflicting visions: the city's climate adaptation strategy and GZM priorities don't always address residents' immediate needs. Residents lack technical knowledge, while city proposals may overlook local specifics. A synthesis of both perspectives is essential.

Popis projektu

The project boldly addresses the needs of both sides, openly presenting challenges and avoiding oversimplification. While some solutions—like adding parking—meet community demands, they may cause issues like flooding. We show impacts of each option and suggest alternatives to reduce problems, fostering understanding. We created two plans to encourage dialogue, highlighting economic, ecological, and social effects. The proposal promotes sustainable development, social integration, revitalization, local services, water retention, ecological corridors, reduced car traffic, and respect for the neighborhood’s history. Now, the decision is up to the residents and the city.

Technické informace

Our work includes in-depth neighborhood analyses, interviews, surveys, and reviews of city and regional strategies, all aimed at finding the best compromises. We developed two comprehensive masterplans for the entire area, phased investment plans, and a set of visualizations comparing design solutions in key neighborhood spaces.
