House of Education Břeclav

Idea projektu

This is an interior design with minor alterations to the layout and an extension to the House of Education in Břeclav so that the building would have a more representative appearance and could be used for various events, for which the cultural hall is to be used in particular. When designing the architectural solution of the building, the main idea was to approach the modifications in a way that would breathe new life into the space and attract residents to enjoy spending their time inside and around the building. The overall changes in materials were tuned more towards light neutral colors, light wood, and in some spaces, color accents are more likely to be found in furniture elements.

In connection of the hall renivation, new facilities for performers were also created, a cloakroom extension for the public was expanded, and an extension to the reception hall was created, which offers the possibility of acoustically separating the walls of the hall from the exterior and at the same time there is also the possibility of connecting by opening four sliding doors. A restaurant with its own facilities was also created on the 1st floor, which is also partially on the 1st floor. A smaller café with a seasonal outdoor terrace is then designed on the 2nd floor. At the same time, the vestibule in front of the House of Education was also renovated. Therefore, in addition to the educational function, the building should also offer cultural, social and catering functions.

Technické informace

The structural system of the hall extension is designed as a wall system using Porotherm ceramic blocks with a thickness of 300 mm and a thermal insulator of 50 mm. Porotherm blocks 100-300 mm were used for the interior renovations. The structural changes also included replacing the roof above the main hall for acoustic reasons. The terrace on the 2nd floor was provided with a green layer. The hall extension was designed as a console at the height of the 1st floor.
