I create a space that is not just memorable — it heals, inspires and stays with a person for a long time.
This project is a unique synthesis of history, nature, art and modern technology, which allows us to take a fresh look at the castle's cultural heritage. A restorer by training and a designer with many years of practice, the author of the project possesses unique knowledge that allows him to preserve the authenticity of the monument, while simultaneously filling it with life, meaning and psychological comfort for visitors.
In this way, an environment is created in which ancient architecture continues to speak with the voices of the past, and modern design solutions help people move into the next stage of perception — into a world of peace, beauty, spiritual purification and memories of traditions.
The precise implementation of the project will make it possible to preserve the uniqueness of the monument, move to the next level of its development
and make the castle a point of attraction, iconic for the region, with cultural, educational, therapeutic and tourist functions.
The Zahrádky Castle exterior restoration project aims to preserve its historical and architectural authenticity with the utmost precision. The castle, built in the Baroque style in the 17th century and rebuilt in the 18th century, is an important cultural heritage site of the Czech Republic. Its architecture is characterized by expressive facades, stucco decoration and symmetrical composition typical of the late Baroque with elements of classicism.
Materials and methods of restoration
The main material for the restoration of facades will be high-quality lime-cement plaster. The choice of this material is due to its high vapor permeability, weather resistance and compliance with historical finishing technologies. The color scheme of the facade is selected based on the results of a stratigraphic analysis of the preserved fragments of the original painting. The shades of the facade painting should be as close as possible to the historical ones in order to preserve the integrity of the castle's appearance and its cultural value.
Windows and glazing
If it is impossible to preserve the original window frames (due to wear, rot or loss), they are replaced with new ones made according to historical drawings or preserved samples. Modern double-glazed windows with a minimum degree of specularity (reflection) will be used for glazing, allowing them to effectively reflect solar radiation. This solution ensures the maintenance of a comfortable indoor climate, reducing overheating during the summer months, which is especially important for castles visited by tourists and used for cultural purposes.
Preservation of architectural elements
All elements of artistic forging, including the stair railings on the second tier of the front area, are subject to careful conservation and restoration. They are preserved in the form in which they were originally conceived by the architects. The principles of preservation and restoration of the decor and interior comply with international standards for the restoration of architectural monuments (Venice Charter, 1964).
Thus, the project aims to delicately restore the historical form of the building using modern technologies that respect its authentic architectural nature.
