The project proposes an urban hotel situated on a parcel with privileged direct access to a lake. The design takes full advantage of the site’s natural asset, establishing a strong spatial and visual relationship with the water. The overall concept is based on enhancing the connection between the built environment and the surrounding landscape, while also responding coherently to the entire plot.
The layout is organized around a central atrium that serves as the core of the project—both spatially and conceptually. This atrium opens towards the lake, creating a powerful axial relationship that draws the natural element into the heart of the building. It acts as a transitional zone that mediates between the urban surroundings and the tranquility of the lakefront, while also allowing light and air to penetrate deep into the structure.
The hotel rooms are arranged in a single-loaded corridor typology, positioned along the exterior perimeter of the building. This configuration ensures that each room benefits from direct views towards the lake and maximum exposure to natural light. At the same time, it allows the central atrium to remain open and unobstructed, serving as a shared communal space with vertical circulation and green insertions.
The volume of the building is carefully articulated to guide the entire site’s orientation towards the lake. Through subtle shifts in geometry and massing, the project enhances visual permeability and encourages movement from the urban edge of the plot towards the water. The building thus functions as a spatial instrument that channels both people and perspective in a fluid, directional manner.
In terms of materiality and architectural language, the design embraces transparency, lightness, and openness. Large glazed surfaces, natural textures, and vertical green elements contribute to a calm, immersive atmosphere. The atrium space acts as a climatic buffer, helping regulate interior temperatures while fostering interaction between guests.
Overall, the project creates a strong dialogue between architecture and landscape, offering guests a spatial experience that blends urban sophistication with natural serenity. The hotel is not only a place for temporary accommodation but becomes an interface between city and nature, private retreat and public openness.
