Idea projektu

The project explores the dialogue between contemporary art and historical context by designing a dual-site architectural intervention in Kyrenia, Cyprus. A contemporary art museum and an artist accommodation complex are envisioned as two parts of a unified cultural experience. Through spatial fragmentation and re-integration, the project challenges conventional boundaries, emphasizing public accessibility, topographic flow, and a continuous narrative between creation and exhibition.

Popis projektu

Located across from one another on a coastal site near Kyrenia Castle, the museum and accommodation are linked by a sunken vehicular tunnel, freeing the surface for pedestrian movement and unified landscape design. The museum terraces down three levels, responding to the site’s slope and forming public platforms that invite interaction. The accommodation blends into the topography, with framed openings offering views of the sea and sky. Both structures are treated as sculpted landforms, integrating with circulation paths, plazas, and light-filled interior voids.
