All of them still allow for creation of innovative, architectural solutions.
Not every historic building can be transformed to meet every new regulations imposed by law, however the project tries to compensate for that by providing several sustainable solutions, as required by the competition rules. Technické informace

Reuse of existing structures was very important to reduce the carbon footprint, however some of the old elements had to be removed. Any materials that could be recovered during the removal should be considered as an additional, less expensive building materials. New roof construction of the castle was designed with wood, as this material was used originally in the past. For the purpose of the new function in the attic of the Zahradky Castle, the roof had to be modified, and glass was the material which was used to change its appearance into a more modern design. Roof surfaces kept all of their angles to reproduce the exact character of the old structure, and because of oculi which were also recreated, the coat was made with beaver tail tiles. For further information regarding changes to the castle and other buildings, please read the specification provided together with posters.
