Title: Reviving Elements of Traditional Learning Spaces in Modern Educational Design

The project explores how architectural elements inspired by India's traditional learning systems can be integrated into contemporary school environments. Drawing inspiration from Gurukul-style education and vernacular design practices, this concept reintroduces nature-based learning, community interaction, and passive design strategies to promote holistic education.

Popis projektu

This project envisions a high school campus that revives the spirit of traditional Indian learning by integrating architectural elements like amphitheatres, courtyards (thinnai), jaali walls, and shaded outdoor seating under trees. The layout encourages natural interaction among students, teachers, and the environment.

Key components include:
Amphitheatre: An open performance space for events, debates, and cultural learning.

Thinnai: A semi-open transitional space that fosters informal learning, dialogue, and community interaction.

Jaali Walls: Designed for passive ventilation and lighting, these walls reflect traditional craftsmanship while serving functional purposes.

Tree-Side Seating: Promotes reflective learning and a connection with nature.
