This project proposes an interior design concept for a growing donut café chain based in New York City, currently operating three branches across New York State and planning future expansion into other cities. The central design focus is a custom-designed light fixture and a prominently featured café counter. The design takes inspiration from the shape of a donut—integrating curved forms and linear elements to reflect both the product and brand identity. The signature light fixture includes dynamic color-changing capabilities, drawing from the wide variety of donut flavors and colors, creating a playful yet sophisticated atmosphere that resonates with customers.

The interior design is strategically developed to emphasize the light fixture and counter as the primary architectural features of the space. Vibrant, dynamic lighting draws attention to these focal points, while the surrounding materials are intentionally kept low-key—using matte textures and subdued tones to create contrast and depth. The overall design enhances the visual appeal of the café while ensuring effective illumination of the counter area, allowing customers to fully appreciate the aesthetic and detail of the donuts. This concept also supports the café’s evolving brand identity, offering a cohesive and memorable experience across all locations.

Technické informace

The custom light fixture is built around a circular structure composed of four modular quarter units, enabling flexible configurations to suit varying spatial layouts and branding requirements in future locations. Each module can be independently adjusted or combined, offering design adaptability as the brand grows. The fixture is enclosed in a transparent plastic cap that not only diffuses light elegantly but also features graphic elements that indicate the current café location and upcoming expansion cities—making the fixture both a functional and narrative element of the design.
