Tea is more than just a drink — it is a creator of stories, relationships, and cultural memories across the world. Inspired by this universal connection, Mina-Raju’s Tea Stall is envisioned as a traveling, interactive space where people build relationships not just with each other, but with the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh.
Mina-Raju’s Tea Stall is a traveling experience that blends storytelling, sustainability, and cultural heritage, inspired by the bold spirits of Mina and Raju. Imagining Mina’s "fourth wish," the stall envisions a space that unites communities through tea, folk performances, and interactive learning. It serves as a dynamic and inclusive environment where tradition meets innovation.
Led by Mina, a confident young woman challenging gender norms, the tea stall creates a welcoming space for all, fostering education, empowerment, and social inclusion. Breaking away from the male-dominated tradition of tea stalls, Mina and Raju prove that leadership and success transcend gender boundaries.
The stall offers a variety of seasonal teas, catering to a diverse community — from students and farmers to travelers and locals. Inspired by the restrictive environment of Mina’s village shop, operated by "Dokankar," this tea stall provides a vibrant, safe space where everyone — especially women and children — can gather freely.
Designed to be mobile, adaptable, and eco-friendly, the structure features customizable walls made from reusable palate wood and bamboo boards. It also includes a sustainable birdhouse system that reuses water to feed birds and animals. The entire stall, constructed with glued laminated bamboo, allows for quick assembly and relocation.
Beyond serving tea, Mina-Raju’s Tea Stall acts as a cultural hub, supporting local fairs, exhibitions, and creative activities. It can pop up anywhere — beside agricultural lands, wetlands, schools, homes, or even travel as a mobile stall along the road — making it a living, moving celebration of Bangladesh’s traditions and stories.
Vision for Mina:
Inspired by Meena’s imagined "fourth wish," the stall promotes inclusivity, breaking gender norms by being led by a confident young woman. It fosters education, sustainability, and community spirit. The structure is mobile, eco-friendly, and extendable, using reusable bamboo, palate wood, and sustainable design techniques like a water-recycling birdhouse.
Impact:
Mina-Raju’s Tea Stall not only revives the disappearing traditions of rural Bangladesh but also encourages community engagement through tea, folk performances, and creative activities. It offers seasonal teas for all — from farmers to students — and transforms ordinary moments into extraordinary cultural experiences.
Goal:
Through every cup of tea, we hope to keep our traditions alive for future generations — making Mina-Raju’s Tea Stall a living story of heritage, inclusivity, and sustainability.
