The Wetland Awareness Center proposed for Sri Jayawardanapura Kotte aims to serve as a focal point for environmental education, conservation awareness, and community engagement. Situated within the rich wetland ecosystem of Kotte, the center will promote understanding and appreciation of wetland habitats while fostering stewardship and sustainable management practices.

Introduction
Sri Jayawardanapura Kotte, the administrative capital of Sri Lanka, is home to diverse wetland ecosystems that play a vital role in supporting biodiversity, regulating water cycles, and providing ecosystem services to local communities. This project proposal aims to establish a Wetland Awareness Center in Sri Jayawardanapura Kotte to raise awareness, promote conservation, and foster community engagement in wetland protection and management.

Objectives
Raise awareness about the importance of wetlands for biodiversity conservation, water resource management, and climate resilience.
Provide educational programs, workshops, and exhibitions on wetland ecology, bird watching, and environmental sustainability.
Engage local communities, schools, and youth groups in hands-on conservation activities and citizen science initiatives.
Promote responsible tourism and eco-friendly practices among visitors to wetland areas in Kotte.

Concept:
The design concept revolves around harmonizing with the natural landscape while creating functional spaces for education, research, and recreation. Emphasis is placed on utilizing eco-friendly materials, maximizing natural light and ventilation, and incorporating elements of traditional Sri Lankan architecture.

Sustainable Design and Operations:
Rainwater harvesting systems and bio-filtration ponds for water conservation and habitat enhancement.
Solar panels and passive design strategies to minimize energy consumption and carbon footprint.
Indigenous landscaping with native plant species to promote biodiversity and ecosystem resilience.

Conclusion:
The establishment of a Wetland Awareness Center in Sri Jayawardanapura Kotte represents a significant opportunity to promote environmental stewardship, biodiversity conservation, and community engagement in wetland habitats.
