Idea projektu

It is a proposal for a multi-purpose contemporary art gallery on the plot between the Na Františku Hospital and the St. Agnes Monastery near Dvořák Embankment. The land is situated on the site of the existing sports complex and has excellent transport accessibility. In close proximity There is a bus stop Na Františku in the immediate vicinity, a tram connection is also a little further away. It is also possible to use the pedestrian path along the Vltava River. The entrance to the underground garages is also designed from the embankment and equipped with a hydraulic flood lock. Access to the embankment is provided by an existing ramp, which could be accessed from the new the newly installed traffic lights on the embankment. The supply is solved from U Milosrdných Street by the entrance to the underground floor via a ramp.

Popis projektu

The main objective of the design was to be as close as possible to the appearance, quality and materials used in the current art, which is about not accepting conventional rules and fighting against boredom and greyness. The mass continues this aim by its gradation towards towards the embankment, allowing a view of Prague Castle from the restaurant and café on the last floors of the gallery. At the same time, it shapes dominance of the nearby surroundings. Its shape clearly emphasises the entrance to the building, but at the same time its mirrored shell of polished and does not interfere with the city skyline.

The proposed gallery has 6 floors above ground and one underground floor. There are 70 parking spaces on the underground level. for visitors, warehouses including a restoration workshop with facilities and technical rooms including an air handling plant (drawing 1.P.P. in the portfolio). On the first floor is the main entrance to the exhibition space and associated amenities. The second floor is dedicated to the exhibition space. Part of it forms a view into the lobby. On the third floor, there is an entrance from the exterior via a ramp adjacent to the western part of the gallery. The entrance leads to the elevators connecting the entire above-ground part of the building, including the restaurant and café. The lifts are equipped with a chip system to prevent access to pay or public areas. floors without a ticket or access card. There is also an entrance to the rentable hall. The third floor is is reserved for administrative space. The fifth floor houses the restaurant, including facilities. On the sixth floor there is a café with a view of Prague Castle and its surroundings.

Technické informace

The structural system of the building is combined with reinforced concrete columns and walls. The building is largely equipped with ventilated façade with a cladding of stainless steel sheeting. The glazed parts are equipped with highly insulating triple glazing with minimal joints shown in detail.
