Idea projektu

Nowadays, large cities are rapidly developing, trends are changing. Because of this, some buildings and design principles become obsolete. In my hometown, the problem of "obsolescence" is especially acute in the housing developments of the 1990s and 2000s, which are not much different from each other. This monotonous building leads to depersonalization, which in turn affects the psycho-emotional state of the individual. In the framework of my project, I want to offer one of the possible solutions to the problem. To find an interesting solution, I took a kindergarten in the center of a residential area. The aim of the project was to create a bright, dynamic, easy to remember dominta. Since the area of the design object is located in the center of the city, it was decided to saturate it with functions that would be of interest to different groups of the population as much as possible.

Popis projektu

As an architect, I tried to create a bright, memorable image that would organically fit into the environment and become the center of attraction of the area. The building is located on a site with interesting and detached relief. This gave rise to the idea of creating a kind of semi-enclosed "island", a mountain. So the project was named "Lysaya Gora", by analogy with the second highest point in Belarus. The slopes of this mountain are covered with picturesque forests and meadows. According to legends, witches and evil spirits used to flock to the "Lysaya Gora" for the Sabbath.
The project has two main functions: a dormitory for students and teachers from nearby educational institutions and a creative center for audiences of all ages. These functions are separated by space-planning solutions. The main entrances and exits of the dormitory and the creative center are isolated from each other. And although they share a common courtyard, it is still visually divided into two components.
Because of the small size of the plot and the difference in ground level, it was decided to have an underground parking lot.
Most of the trees on the site will be removed because they obscure the facades of the building from major vantage points. However, these losses will be compensated by new plantings on the site and the organization of two operable roofs with a small conservatory.

Technické informace

Based on the results of the survey, it was decided to preserve the load-bearing structures of the "old" part of the building and the foundation. The windows, doors and non-load-bearing walls were replaced with new, higher-performance ones.
The extensions have their own, independent grid of columns. The winter garden and the co-working room are superstructured by reinforcing the existing columns of the "old" part of the building with the subsequent installation of trusses on them.
The roof of the hostel is angled to provide insolation for the hotel rooms and courtyard.
Measures have been taken to make the building accessible to the physically disabled: entrances from ground level, duplication of stairs with hoists; design of corridors, rooms, toilets, showers, and other facilities with regard to accessibility.
