Idea projektu
The main idea of this project is to put the port underground, so the citizens of Beirut can get the most attractive areas of the city to enjoy. The idea is to make as many as possible natural surfaces, and give the city more green fields because that's what is missing in Beirut.
Popis projektu
Since the entire port is placed underground, all the space above is turned into a park. The park consists: Cargo port (container zone, empty container zone, conventional cargo zone); Free zone/garden; Commercial business area; Passenger terminal, Art and culture center.
Technické informace
The construction is designed so that steel columns and beams are supported by reinforced concrete slabs that end with green roofs. Facades are a combination of glass and concrete walls.
