Idea projektu

Implementing collective housing has been one of the main processes the City has undergone when expanding and finding its form during time. Various historical periods of the evolution of Bucharest have seen precise inhabiting models and particular architectural typologies, reflecting the conceptions and knowledge of the respective times: political, cultural, technical, social, esthetic, etc. Although relatively recently entered in the repertoire of architects’ concerns, the stake of collective housing concerns the essential relationship between architecture and the city, the issue of living together in the same territory and imagining the future of the city.

Popis projektu

I proposed an ensemble containing about 68 apartments, in accordance with current living habits. Also, other complementary functions to the housing whose total share don't exceed 20% of the built-up area allocated to the housing program. The necessary technical spaces and
parking spaces are dimensioned and configured accordingly. Of course, the legislation and regulations that establish the mandatory minimum areas of apartments, as well as those that require criteria for shading / lighting and natural ventilation of homes, as well as other related rules (fire protection, civil protection, traffic and traffic safety) are briefly detailed in the relevant annex.
The project takes a stand in relation to: architectural residential type (single block, more volumes, relationship to the exterior spaces, etc.), complementary functions, way of occupying the plot (retreats, free spaces), density (number of apartments, number of inhabitants), height of the building, vertical structuring of the program (from public to private), typological structure of the apartments (number of rooms, small or big surfaces) with obvious implications for a necessary social mix in the city.
