Idea projektu

Our project was inspired by two facts about Kamionek. The first - The historical name of the settlement is Kamion, what means a “stone”. The second - The territory is known as the pre-war Silicon Valley. That is why we paid attention to the stones and minerals based on the element Silicon… And created SILEX. All that was reflected in the form of the object with clear edges and shiny black surfaces. Today, in the century of information technologies, Silicon is the heart of any gadget. Therefore, SILEX aims to become the heart of the Kamionek and to retern it the role of one of the global centers of activity.

Popis projektu

The main entrances form three squares of different themes –
Wschodnia Plac, Kamionek Plac and Fabric Plac.
The Fabric Plac creates a visual connection between the new facility
and the historical heritage.
This is a place for music concerts, festivals and student events. Inside SILEX there is also a large open space with communication,
performance areas and retail.
There are separate entrances to the residential part and bike rooms. 5 blocks are formed around stair-lift unit: 2 residential, sports,
research-and study and a public catering.
The building is full of various functions for life and development of
residents.

Technické informace

The objective of the Architecture Student Contest is to develop a project based on sustainability, bith for people and the planet. The buildings will be highly energy-efficient, low-carbon, and provide a comfortable environment for their occupants, in order to create better living, working and leisure spaces everywhere.
