Idea projektu

MIGRANT HOME HUB is a community centre and a new purpose-built dormitory located in Singapore. Workers living in this dormitory will have ready access to medical care and support. Good ventilation will be an excellent response to resist the Covid-19 virus. The community centre can help migrant workers to integrate into society by providing vocational training. Various programme and workshops will be held such as IT knowledge, Basic lingual classes. Many activities can be collaborative with society. For example, Restaurants can volunteer themselves to provide nutritional food to migrant workers. The professional people can volunteer to come and give training to them.

Popis projektu

The concept of the project:
1. HOME: The migrant home hub is aimed to provide the feeling of home for the migrant workers.Let the target users have the warmth and feeling of home through the vernacular design concept.
2. WELLNESS: The physical and mental health of the migrant workers is the most crucial focusing point of the project. Greenery, an environmentally friendly material, will be utilized in the design, making the target user feel relaxed and comfortable. The use of different pattern screening and internal lighting contribute to the spatial interplay while at the same time utilizing natural cross-ventilation and natural daylighting. Therefore, the design helps the body to relax within the nature of a dense city
3. INTEGRATION: Integrate outdoor with indoor. Provide opportunities and platforms to promote social integration between the migrant and local communities. generating exciting mixed-use spaces.
4.OPEN&COMMUNICATION:
The interior will be opened and aim to make people feel spatial and relax. Each room is connecting with another room in an open layout. The design aims to merge the private life of the target users with more public and open programs, generating exciting mixed-use spaces
