Idea projektu

The archipelago of Cape Verde is one of the places most threatened by rising sea levels. It is estimated that a rise in sea level between 50 and 130 meters could bury under water a large part of the country and its most important cities. To counter this phenomenon, the Cape Verdean government is trying to minimize its ecological footprint by investing in renewable energies and there Cape Verde has two major assets, the first is its position in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean near the Tropic of Cancer where the archipelago can use the thermal energy of the oceans and it's warm and sunny climate which will allow it to use solar energy.

Popis projektu

Our project is located on the island of Santo Antao on the cliffs of Fontainhas. It consists of several modules that will host both the power conversion plants and will also serve as a platform for camping and hiking. Indeed, Fontainhas is a popular destination for hikers and our project, in addition to being in line with the theme of renewable energy, integrates with the existing hiking circuit and offers new platforms, new experiences and new perspectives for hikers.

Technické informace

The modules will be suspended above by a metal structure that will connect them to the cliff. This structure will also serve as a footbridge and house the wiring for the power transmission.
