Idea projektu

A modern person gets very tired in the city bustle, noise, and abundance of concrete. Outdoor recreation is very popular. But it is not always possible to leave the city.
At the heart of this campus is the concept of "form obeys life cycles", which connects people and architecture with the environment. Urbanization and industrialization are bad for the environment, so one should strive to create small oases in the middle of the urban landscape. The selected design enhances the symbiosis of humans, local vegetation and topographic landscape, preserves natural drainage.
At the same time, maximally preserve and maintain the green area of this site and create a suitable atmosphere. To maximize the preservation of existing green spaces, as well as to maintain and supplement. For which purpose, a sloped exploited roof was proposed, designed for a calm, quiet rest, the exchange of information between students and teachers.
Taking into account the terrain, the building acquires an individual appearance, and the adjacent landscape becomes a decoration thanks to glazing.
The use of "green" technologies is inspired by time, as they take as a basis the laws of nature and its forms. Bionic architecture uses alternative energy sources (wind, sun, water).

Popis projektu

The basic concept is to combine several different volumes, which would differ in size and shape, but the overall shape of the roof follows the terrain and flexibly bends around the strict shape of the main volume. One of the two forms can take on the other completely within its volume. The smooth shape of the roof smoothes out strict sealed corners. And thanks to the materials and warm, naturalistic colors, the building naturally blends into the landscape, despite the strict segmentation and many straight lines.
The volume-planning composition consists of the intersection of 2 volumes, obtained in contrast to the existing buildings. The facades are a clear volume with pronounced horizontal communication in the form of glazing, contrasting with the sloping roof, which smoothly flows into the relief due to its shape. The idea was to support as well as complement the smooth shape of the relief, imitating it with a roof. When two shapes, differing in geometry or orientation, collide and cross each other's boundaries.
The main emphasis is the unification of the strict forms of the main facade with the soft form of the roof, which in turn follows the natural form of the relief and has the function of the protective shell of the last level of the building.
After studying analogous projects that contributed to the creation of a general compositional volume, it was decided to preserve the existing terrain as much as possible and maintain its shape with the help of other volumes. The project is designed in such a way as to merge with the environment as much as possible and minimize the impact on it.
The two central blocks serve as the "core" for the rest of the faculties and combine such functions as: classrooms, laboratories, classrooms for collective work, an exposition area, etc. This contributes to the fact that students of different specialties have the opportunity to exchange information, participate in general research and develop not only in the context of “their” specialty and use the information received in their projects.

Technické informace

The overall shape of the plan was developed by grouping the shapes around one main volume, which is also a line of symmetry.
Since the main contingent is students and teachers, a service institution was developed in the parterre: Cafe with 100 seats.
The STU campus development project provides for a large common area for spending time together - 60%, small and large audiences - 30% and auxiliary premises - 10%.
The two central blocks have the function of combining all the blocks that surround them, for these reasons, large open, common spaces were allocated for both students and teachers.
The entrance group of the premises includes a vestibule, a cloakroom, a reception. On the ground floor, large open spaces are provided for the joint exchange of information. The second includes several auditoriums and a large exposition area with access to the terrace. The third floor contains the auditorium and the administration area with all the accompanying premises. The windows are oriented on two sides of the building, which facilitates through ventilation.
Also, an exploited sloped roof for recreation was proposed. This idea will ideally complement the overall atmosphere of the site and highlight the connection between architecture and nature.
