Idea projektu

The concept is based on simple geometric shapes, applying shapes such as rectangles, triangles, and circles, then transforming them into geometric volumes, by elevating them into three dimensions.
By combining these volumes, we have come to a final composition of the appearance of the pavilion. Each floorplan comes from an interconnection with each other, always based on the concept and the way on how people experience and perceive space.

Popis projektu

Following the main purpose of this building which is the manifestation of spatial experiences inside and out, the pavilion contains several unique, creative, and functional elements such as:

- Two main entrances, and an optional approach leading to the respective entrances. Both entrances lead to a spacious zone where a spatial experience is inevitable and the inside-outside as well as inside-inside relationship is always present and carefully considered during the designing process;

- The open galleries are designed to experience the spaces between all the floors, create visual communications, and enable natural light distribution inside the space which is a significant point of this design;

- The ramp, which is designed to create another connection between the last two floors and to add additional value to the exterior composition of the pavilion;

- The shape of the stairs is spiral where their supporting axis has openings that enable the illumination of the stairwell by the zenith lighting. Its retaining wall has continuous spiral openings, the height of which is as much as the human eye;

- Inspired by the colors of the Mondrian style, we designed a cover on the last floor to add dynamism to the building. This cover is made of colored glass tiles, the shade of which is reflected in color.
