Idea projektu

The design is inspired from traditional dance of UAE . Al Ayyala or yowalah Dance. The group dance is performed by a group of 20 men or less accompanied by traditional music these men face each other in groups & carry bamboo sticks to signify spears or swords, in between the
two rows of men musicians play large and small drums, brass cymbals.the facade of the building is inspired from the men orientation and the way they move. The central courtyard and narrow open to air walkway (sikka) is inspired from vernacular architecture of UAE.the central courtyard have dynamic tubing's which represent abstract way in which musicians and dancers move around in between two rows of men. The gift shop,staircase and the lift represents the big and small drums used by the musicians.

Keeping the upcoming Expo 2020 in mind, prepare and develop a design proposal for relocating DUCTAC from the Mall of the Emirates to Expo 2020 site in a larger scale to provide its resident with upgraded experience. This new venture will be renamed as DUBAI CULTURAL AND PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (DCPA)

DCPA, considered by many to be the most prominent of exhibitions for contemporary art, Design, Music and Dance; is getting established to endorse the UAE’s contemporary practices on an international platform
and provide a foundation to support the nation’s diverse and developing cultural scene. This commitment offers myriad opportunities for the UAE cultural scene to span art, film, dance, music, and theatre and ensure that UAE-based artists are presented at the forefront of international contemporary art.
