ABSTRACT
In the city of Tijuana, the use of exotic vegetation predominates over the native one within gardens and public spaces. These plants require a greater need of water to survive. In order to encourage the use of native plants within urban spaces, this to reduce water consumption; Contribute to the maintenance of the ecosystem and local biodiversity. It proposes a naturalistic landscape design that accentuates and exhibits the physiognomic qualities of aesthetic way within Ecoparque's academic linkage and applied research project that works as a driver of sustainability in the city. The landscape proposal is based on the understanding of the functioning of vegetation both individually and as a whole, that is, based on their needs, performance and qualities. It is the accommodation that is given within the exhibitions. Working with plant communities with a harmonious development. Starting from the idea of relationship between society and the natural environment; Creating walkable display areas that show first-hand learning based on interaction with smaller-scale habitats. Same that can be replicated inside the gardens of houses. Therefore, implementing a landscape proposal conformed with native plants is a new perspective to promote their use on ornamental plants, and recognize the potential they offer as natural elements of the region within urban spaces.

Popis projektu

The project began with a question because there was a landscape design within the city with native vegetation ?, to which under investigation an answer is common the use of exotic vegetation on the native by the little distribution and knowledge of it between Its citizens are also perceived as weeds or are attributed to abandoned sites, people perceive green areas as an area with grass and large shrubs but in the city this concept only leads to the wear and tear of limited resources. This is why a landscape proposal is created based on the use of plants with sensorial and seasonal interest, the design gives us the opportunity to interact and appreciate them as a community, at the same time the interaction helps us to create a commitment of conservation of the Ecosystems.

PROYECTO

DESIGN PROCESS
It was begun with an investigation of the native vegetation of the region, it is possible to emphasize that since it is a semi-arid zone the shrubs predominate in different shades from green to grayish, the choice of two communities was chosen from the coastal scrubland and the chaparral, First is a community that has descended by urban growth and therefore is given higher priority. It was created a list of 32 plants of which 4 were chosen, which are germinated within the nurseries of Ecoparque and from which vegetable pallets were made to verify the requirements they had in common leaving for the first sample Encelia Californica, Salvia Mellifera Salvia Apiana, Eschscholzia Californica.
The design is based on vertical and underground layers these are subdivided as follows:
1) Vertical layers
• Structural
• Stationary
2) Underground layers
• Root system
In the structural layer we talk about the form this is a primordial determinant for the accommodation within the design, the texture is a stationary variant since the sample will dictate the life process and changes of the plant throughout the year, with this The appreciation is not only esthetic, it generates an understanding that the vegetation is a living being and as such can be beautiful in times of flowering and in times when it is not flowering, but to achieve this you need to understand the plant not As an individual being if not as a being in community, ie plants share similar characteristics and needs as light, temperature, water, soil type among others, within their habitats has been looked at how they can coexist with each other. And that together not only create a showy area many combinations are functional to what takes us to the underground layer, is the one that is found in the subsoil is made notion to the root system and from there to the functionality, when different root systems are combined An interlaced mesh is created. In Tijuana it is common to find slopes that do not have vegetation and are susceptible to erosion. With a mixed proposal this problem can be reduced, since the use of vegetation with extended, long and deep roots creates moorings and minimizes erosion.
In identifying the needs and function in the context, a concept was called evolution, which in the proposal is expressed as a strip of 0.80m wide to the center composed of stipas, thin perennial plants that Divide the proposal between two perceptions the before and after, letting them enter a sample of habitats together, walkable, with floristic diversity in different shades. In order to achieve a good distribution of the communities, technical sheets were used, creating vegetable pallets that responded to the needs of the area, a site analysis was carried out that dictated the general zoning, considering paths, views and the route established within the zones. facilities.
