The project of Beirut is very important and sensitive topic. The explosion in 2020 greatly affected economic development. Analysis of the interconnection of city areas and communication is one of the most important phases of the project which has been handled correctly in the project worked on by you.
My recommendations are to deal with the aspect of the economic zone and the port in more detail, To create an urban memory with values in the area of the explosion. Adding the functions of connecting the squares with the areas of the city.
Based on the importance of the project it is recommended that the information of the project in terms of graphics be more detailed
Dear Zana Prelvukaj, thank you for the feedback!
The basic intention of the project is to form a common flexible public space within the conflict zone known as the "green line". The goal of that public space and the reason for its formation in this zone is to reconcile the people of East and West Beirut.
It would be in the form of vertical and horizontal communications that bridge the wide boulevards which strongly divide Beirut into two zones. By implementing of these public spaces reduces the strength of these wide streets and emphasizes the gathering places that would be formed above and next to them.
Public space would be flexible in the sense that the inhabitants would give it the main character by introducing elements of their culture and in that way it would become a picture of the society that lives in it. These public spaces are connected to the passenger terminal, cultural and memorial part and penetrate within the housing. The formation of these public areas significantly increases the percentage of green areas, which is very small in Beirut.
