PROJECTS FEEDBACK

Any participant in the INSPIRELI AWARDS competition can ask a member of the international jury for feedback on his/her competition project. Jurors are assigned across continents at a ratio of one juror per student. The resulting gallery is a unique architecture textbook, created free of charge by those who wish to participate in our project and contribute their work to the education of the up and coming generation. We are honored that you are sharing your designs and experiences here.

This sketch can serve as the basis for the main project, but it's too early to judge the final idea, since, in my opinion, the proposed solution is quite conceptually presented. Of those points that I would like to correct - this is the direction of the pedestrian boulevard, which should not only go from some visual object through interesting sights, but also come somewhere. This project does not have such a clear start and end point. Because of this, the impression of a "torn" context is…

After analyzing the project, there are several points that must be mentioned The positives of the project: The project has been devided into separate sections. There is a diversity of functional activities (commercial,recreational,cultural,...) linking them with the Boulevard as an essential element and also the interrelationship with the river. It is good to take into account the presence of a memorial symbol for the explosion of the harbor . It is also useful to recycle the containers in the…

The project is well presented through description and drawings. On urban design level, from the first look, it gives impression as it’s target the residential investment more then the port development as the large scale of land use. For the land use distribution, it was needed to have more relation between the passenger terminal and the port as they both needs authority control. For the water canals between residential areas and the closed sea area in front of memorial zone, it need more…

The project is an interesting position on redefining mix use and vertical living. It questions the design response to high density, poor territorial planning and lack of infrastructure. The comments are structured at two scales: I. Site layout Plan: The project centres around the open spaces, river as a featured element. The source and regular maintenance issues need to be thought as much. The techniques of collecting rain water from roofs and collection can be undertaken in the river. River…

Good afternoon! I would like to congratulate your team on the opportunity to represent the project at the international level! I like how the presented project proposes the organization of a saturated public space with the zones of attraction on the embankment. It makes access to water open for the public. It is also a good idea to make an opportunity of different viewpoints on the memorial. However, the project lacks a clear functional zoning of the territory, which would allow the formation…

The project as a conceptual design is looks good with its theme and concept and also through the distribution of land uses in relation to the surrounding context but in detail, it was not clear enough to show the circulation networks between vehicles and pedestrians, public spaces and service circulation in addition to the different relation between private, semi private and public zones. The use of the dome with huge scale is not logic especially from structure, environment and the need for…

Thanks for participating in Inspireli. It is really intriguing how the project was inspired by the tragic events in Beirut and how it was conceived as a dialogue between the past, present, and future that has eventually well transformed into a resolved building outcome. It is clear that you have intentionally contrasted the two buildings, but one can argue that the way you handled the two architectural languages seems to undermine their ability to work well together as a composition. The…

Hi Mohammad, Love the rejuvenated port with more public programs in a strong urban fabric identity in form of a circle outline with two main cuts. A little bit more attention on the ground / port urban fabric would be good to improve axial clarity and circulation duplications. The extended public realm on the original seawall is welcomed, humanising the port with more leisure marina and recreational activities. A bit of attention to coastline programming would really make the new public…

The NEXO project is distinguished by the thoughtfulness of conceptual and technical solutions that allow the viewer to form their own view of the historical values of the city of Beirut. An interesting solution seems to be the formation of a green buffer zone, taking over the noise, around the port. Architecture harmoniously fits into the environment due to the simplicity of form, rhythm, composition and color solutions. New transport systems (tram, train, cable car, bus) allow not only to…
