Design: Making use of site context to develop the design concept is commendable and very well thought. Form wise, the design could have been more explored, considering water the design doesn’t showcase easy fluidity. Also, requirements of an science center should have been explored and used for shaping the design. Design Communication: The description lacked clarity in terms of requirements of science center architecturally which reflected in design. Core concept or star of the design seemed…

Hi Nouran, Your project is amazing and it transports me to a different world. I admire the shapes that you have used to create a unique and fluid form. I realize that the main function of this project is a jewelry museum. In my perspective, I would suggest using some other finishes to complement the white parts that predominate in the space, but this is just my personal taste. And please be mindful of the structure, as it will be very hard to build and maintain. I wish you good luck and I am…

The student clearly explained the intentions of the project. I think that instead of designing the project as a coworking space, the name multifunctional space is appropriate. The question then arises on how to manage all these functions in a single surface. The ambition to include the project in the ecological register by bringing the natural elements inwards is commendable. Of course there will be major logistical challenges, but it is still doable.

Architecture is not only about form and appearance, but like other art disciplines, architecture has form and content. It seems that in this project, due to the use of soil color, there are signs of design compatible with the context, but the inner theme of the design is compatible with the context and the platform of compatibility with the local people, not in the shape and color of the project. Despite this discourse, it seems to be a good project.

Yentle’s proposal shows much promise, as he is clearly competent at producing crisp and accurate architectural drawings. The building proposed seems to have a balanced volumetric relationship with the existing built environment, and its form presents an intriguing dialogue with the city. Slide 8 shows an evocative interior space as the sculptural ceiling juxtaposed with the concrete frame. Similarly, slides 10 and 11 show some elegant use of materials. Slide 11 presents a projection towards…

Chia-Hua is proposing an intriguing spatial interpretation of the life cycle of tea, both as a commodity and as a cultural narrative. He has created a fascinating parametric form which he describes as the metal box and glass fin unit, and has considered it both sculpturally and structurally. The building’s layout is neat and logical, but the proposal would have benefitted by a rigorous site analysis that would explain the decisions regarding the building’s footprint. Although Chia-Hua has…

Emphasizing the importance of historical heritage for local development is a particularly significant feature of the project. The revitalization project of the Cathedral of the Monastery of the Black Brothers is illustrative, based on the research of historical sources, with a contemporary and current approach to the topic. The author made a special contribution to the project by using new architectural elements which do not damage the original appearance of the building. Although the…
