Project idea

There has been a theory in architecture for a long time that the introduction of natural spaces into human spaces improves the well-being of residents and visitors. The project explores this theory, expanding the image to agricultural areas and how, through them, we can provide a comfortable, enjoyable living place for people.
Residents are united by a common idea - living in nature and growing food for consumption and sale.
The facility receives its main income from the sale of essential oils. The choice of such a product relates to the history of the territory of Bakhchysarai. A large amount of essential oil was produced there, but after the 90s the industry was abandoned. Despite this, the area has good prospects for the resumption of this industry.

Project description

The shape of the house is a system of interconnected sides and modules separated by function.

The lower floors provide public and semi-public spaces where guests and residents can interact with each other. By looking at the first floor, we can see that the further the blocks from the store-cafe module, the more private the spaces become, where visitors cannot enter.
The second floor has private blocks, all residents of the house have access to them. There are bedrooms and galleries where residents can communicate and spend time with each other in calm and peace.
The third floor is a greenhouse, which is accessible only to specially learned residents, because of the experiments on the plants and selection of the most successful species that are happening here. The greenhouse floor also provides residents with food during the cold season.
On the space of the modular mountain, there are also two small architectural forms: a goat's barn and a swimming pool. Small barn for goats with artificially created mountainous terrain for the active lifestyle of animals and providing them with fresh grass during the warm seasons. For wintertime there is a small room for hay.
The swimming pool in the space is a multi-level system with a swimming area, green terraces, and barbecue area. Here on the weekends, residents can relax and have a good time.

Technical information

The three-story modular building consists of monolithic reinforced concrete walls with cross construction of the walls. The floors between floors are made of hollow reinforced concrete to reduce the load from the building on the foundation and foundations.
The facility has operable green roofs, which are equipped with heated drainage, thermal insulation ventilation and have a drainage layer under the final green garden covering.
After analyzing the terrain and soil in the area of the proposed construction, it was decided to use a pile type of foundation for the building.
