The roof canopy gathers all connected spaces,
forming one generous cultural environment. it rises and falls like the peaks of the mountains and waves. Every angle is specially designed to give a unique identity to the oasis
The design concept seeks to harmonize the Oasis with the surrounding natural landscape of the site, drawing from the strong lines of the mountain and the flowing waters of the Nile. BY Combining cultures, Oasis has a unique and powerful way of storytelling.
After choosing the site, the design process starts with the nature of the project and the site.
The design process began with designing a Canopy that is homogeneous with the surrounding environment of the site, where the mountainous environment and waters of the Nile River, then using materials that are compatible with the African culture and the environment in colors and feelings. Canopy Shades the spaces below and reduces the temperature of these spaces. The roof canopy gathers all connected spaces, forming one generous cultural environment. it rises and falls like the peaks of the mountains and waves. Every angle is specially designed to give a unique identity to the Oasis on the site.
After designing the canopy, more ideas were found to design the spaces below it, due to the site situation best idea was how Oasis takes its shape in the desert. The design simulates the formation of an Oasis in the desert. The central part represents the most important part of the oasis, surrounded by the quietest spaces. Creating a visually pleasing region for the design and cultural vocabulary of Africa. Then examining the idea and how it will function with the design program through a concept model for spaces which is divided into :
Culture, entertainment, and educational zones ( Theatre - open-air museum - kids area - cinema - halls - exhibition - library and creative hub )
Besides that administration zone - service zone
The Oasis is embraced by nature in a perfect symbiosis, reframing the contact of human beings with their most instinctive sensations in order to reestablish African culture in a more natural way, through the practice of biophilia which incorporates natural features into the built environment. Water, vegetation, sunlight, and natural materials are used An organic shapes for spaces. with timber, rammed-earth, and sustainable materials Oasis has been designed.
