Covered Hall Design

Project idea

This project was launched by Asian Paints Nepal in 2017 with the scope to re- structure the one and only covered hall in Nepal. As a developing country there is very little progress in sports sector which result to poor architectural sports design. Thus with the idea to create a new unique covered hall keeping in mind about the global sports all this design was initiated.

Project description

The main scope of this project is to visualise how the sports hub has been changed from past. Even the football stadium we see have been drastically changed. This project is small project with capacity of only 2000 spectators but meeting all the international standard which can be icon in Nepalese history to promote architecture.

Technical information

The main concept of this design is done with a simple form. The planning are done keeping in mind of emergency evacuation. The zoning are done with respect to 5 zones about stadium i.e. Pitch; Seating;Internal Concourse;External Concourse; Outside the Stadium. Keeping in mind about the recent massive earthquake in 2015 the structure used in this covered hall are inspred from the Phillippine arena. Rubber bearing system is used to control the seismic load.
