Leisure Centre

Project idea

The visual character of the Leisure Centre was mostly determined by the location which is Erlenbach in Switzerland. This extraordinary place with magic landscapes was the main inspiration for this project.
The primary goal was to build a space for recreation and additional facilities that could be used by the local population and tourists. Guided by the attractiveness of the site I created a space that suits children and adults who like to spend time in nature.

Project description

Making conceptual solution for public building who respects location topography is challenge and pleasure for an architect. Playing with forms and function was resulted by playful building with street lines which dives below mountain and creates space for care and recreation.

The location is surrounded by a main and secondary road that allows very easy access to the building. A square intended for socializing, sharing experiences and getting to know the environment was formed in front of the building. The building is surrounded by courts for basketball, tennis, volleyball and swimming pool. Conceptually, the green space on the part of the building is designed for exploring the environment and socializing.
Main entrance in emphasised with an eaves and red columns. After entering the facility, we get to know the contents of the centre on the info desk that is surrounded by a seating area, coffee bar, stairs and elevator. Communications and toilets are adapted for people with disabilities.
The recreational zone of the ground floor consists of dressing rooms, fitness room, massage area, dance studio, ballet hall and pilates room. On the upper floor there are beauty salons and a coffee bar with a gallery view of the ground floor.

Glass façade with dark profiles and white walls highlights building form in relation to the location. Bathed in the sun inner space interior space offers many facilities including sports, recreation and body care.

Technical information

As you can see on the floor plans, the building has an reinforced concrete structure in combination of a line and a dotted system. This solution respects rules for sustainable buildings with green roofs where people can enjoy in perspectives and rich contents of the landscape design. On the location is designed parking for visitors and employees and location is very good connected with environment.
