The Expocomplex in the structure of the neighborhood

Project idea

2017 is a year of Ecology in Russia. The ecological issues being discussed all over the world are touched upon in this project. Special attention is given to the technical (waste disposal by special mechanisms) and biological (worm farm) recycling, growing of vegetables and greens, which will be used for cooking in the café. Electrical energy from solar panels is used for the mechanism of the waste disposal. Artificial landscape – geoplastic landscape – enhances the expressiveness of the area and contributes to the interconnection of the Complex with the environment as well as the system of the inverted green roof and the fragments of landscaping on the façade. As a result, the Complex and the surrounding nature become the single entity.

Project description

The Expocomplex is aimed not only for exhibition and congress activity but also functions for the residents of the neighborhood and provides services for them. In this connection, the Complex is divided into two parts: exhibition part with the conference hall and community club with infrastructure elements like consumer services (hairdressers, shoe and clothes repair shop etc.)
The territory of the Complex includes interactive areas for different purposes, open exhibition space, recreational zones, open-air cinema and street café, and the one for open lectures and seminars.

Technical information

Regarding the construction, the Complex is divided into two parts because of the specific long-span exhibition space where the special-bar construction is used. The other part includes solid floor and reinforced concrete columns.
